I am aware of some minor Bookface layout issues that cropped up in Friendica 2026.05 and already have opened three issues on my GitLab. If you notice any other stuff please screenshot it and open an issue there: gitlab.com/randompenguin/bookf…

I already have some ideas how to fix the ones I found, but will need to test them and see if they can also be backported or if they should only be applied to the 2026.05 release.

@Random Penguin
First of all, thank you so much for your work :party popper: .
Question: When will you officially release the theme in Repro from Friendica so that it’s available to all users?
in reply to Matthias

The core devs would probably have to make that call. The CSS for Bookface is kind of a mess though since I've just been patching it as I go and not paying a lot of attention to organizing or formatting.

All I've been concerned with is if it cascades/overrides and renders the appearance I wanted. I suspect my mess won't pass code standards muster for official inclusion.

If I ever finish the BookLook theme, though, I'd kind of like to abandon Bookface.

I ended up fixing half a dozen changes I've noticed and they are available right now in version 2.1.4 of the stable branch. However I'm not doing a release yet because there will probably be more, but anyone who wants the current fixes can go grab it from my repo:

Oh, and 2.1.4 is really only for Friendica 2026.01 and 2026.05. There were no updates for 2025.07-rc or 2024.12 as these fixes were only for things that changed in the 2026 releases.

I think it is fair to focus on forward versions instead of spending much time on ensuring all issues are addressed in outdated versions of friendica which ideally should be updated anyways.
