Yes. That is a deficiency of Mastodon, but this thread is about how you can follow all of them. The first post above lists a link to download a .csv file, and instructions for how to import all these accounts. It is a "poor man's" Starter Pack admittedly, but it is what we've got.

Also, if it is possible for you to please edit your reply to remove the addresses it then will not spam all the listed accounts. Another deficiency of Mastodon kind of.

Hopefully someone is working on some quality of life improvements like this for mastodon. It will make it a lot friendlier to more people.

Completely agree! What they have accomplished with the limited budget they have is amazing, but we would all like it to be even better. Starter Packs or Follow Packs would be a great thing given how popular they seem over on BS.

@jcrabapple At first, I loved the ideas of starter packs. Now, I still think they're cool, but they are no discoverability panacea.

@jcrabapple Yeah, this is an *OK* strategy. But unfollowing can sometimes be a tough decision. Being faced with a HUGE untamed feed of things that might need to be pruned just seems like work instead of fun/interesting scrolling. I did this with my mastodon.social account in the beginning and after all this time I'm STILL finding accounts I want to unfollow and it always seems like im on the hunt for things to unfollow instead of the opposite 🤷‍♂️

@shellsharks it's what I did for this account and I'm following a lot of great people because of it. I still occasionally unfollow/block/mute people but that's what those tools are there for. It really works for me. That's why I would have loved to have Starter Packs when I first got here.
