RECOMMENDED PLUGINS FOR LINUX

I updated my list of audio plugins I use with Linux. There are now so many great apps available nowadays, that I weeded out many of worthy apps. I keep 1 or 2 of the best apps for any particular job (except for samplers -- I LOVE samplers) 😆

Over the next several posts, I am going to post my list of plugins I use, so that any who are starting out with Linux can get an idea as to what's available.

Many of these plugins are open source. However, many are also commercial plugins. I prefer serial# or keyfile copy protection. There are some that use challenge/response, however. I mark them with a: (C/R).

Plugins with an "*" are those that I have not yet purchased, but intend to purchase.

With that out of the way, here we go:

With all of the great audio plugins constantly coming out on a daily basis, it is good to go through & keep just the tools that you like the best. It is better to know a few tools well.

There's nothing wrong with using patches, of course, but I personally, am trying to focus on knowing my synths well and using them to their fullest.

I hope this helps someone. 🙂

Do you know the AudioThing plugins? They made some of my favourites, like Dials (pre, comp, and filter), Type A and Type B (exciter), Things Fold (distortion), June (synth), or Wurly (keys).

@dereisenhofer

Oh yeah! There are several there that I would like to eventually get. I just have to stay on a budget, and the ones that I listed (with astrisks "*") are already pretty expensive. I'm sure I'll add/remove more from my list once I get the ones listed purchased. 🙂

That said, if I hadn't have already known about Audio Thing, I would have been very appreciative to be told about them. Thank you for reaching out to let me know! 🙂 👍

The TAL Drum was a real game changer for me Originally I just looked for 707 drums, but this sampler is incredibly good. From airwindows, I use the console 9 and channel 9 plugins in each channel. ToTape8 and Discontinuity are also outstanding. These plugins make the whole mixing thing so much fun.
