@MistralAI

Here are more tips to deGoogle: tuta.com/blog/degoogle-list

@MistralAI I feel liberated now that I've quit Google. It's wild how people just ignore the fact that half their search results are sponsored.

I do wonder if promoting LLMs that have stolen the collective works of artists and, in fact, everyone, and continue to cause massive environmental damage is entirely ethical of you.

There is no such thing as ethical AI. There's no right way to do the wrong thing, don't compromise on the pollution of the information sphere and denigration of art and culture and proliferation of consciousness-impersonating political agents

@MistralAI

AI slop hurts your soul.

It makes you: distrustful, dismissive of creative works, uncreative, derivative, imaginatively stunted, unreflective, dependant, it robs you of the satisfaction and growth granted by the creative process and it poisons you with all the same cultural biases taken from the training data.

AI robs people of imagination and the drive to create and instead produces output that is pastiche on steroid, uninspired unchallenging slop, every little detail crafted without personality or opinion with nothing to say except "this might vaguely remind you of something good that already existed"

I am also particularly concerned about the rise of chatbots pretending to be humans for political purposes.

I'm less convinced about the AI agent promotion, especially in the light of the unfolding Clawdbot debacle.

@MistralAI Could you help to create sort of 2026 challenge to move gradually? It is hard to do this at obce but maybe with community shareing tipps... Why not?

@MistralAI
FOSS lover 100%, this is constructive criticism from a guy forced into an evilcorp stack at work: FOSS has nothing that can compete with Google and MS yet. I've tried but they're fragmented, non-integrated.

I process hundreds of emails a day and can do a ton of efficient powerful things from a single interface to manage/edits files, meetings, contacts, tasks and more.

The FOSS alternatives: frankly primitive in comparison. Lets catch up!!

OK, I understand that we need to switch from Big Tech (already done so), but please Can You start focusing more on improving the UI of the Tuta apps on Desktop & Mobile?

Some suggestions: Bring Material You support, more elegant/modern icons, more theming options etc.

Would be greatly appreciated and much more appealing to other people too.

@MistralAI
Now we just need a EU smartphoneOS to get rid of big techs hold on the users.
SailfishOS ?

can you help me understand if @CryptPad is able to replace Office for personal apps? Like instead of Word.app locally? Iโ€™m trying to understand the use case vs LibreOffice?
in reply to Tuta

or all together deGAFAM. Simple, safe and efficient.

This post is somewhat ironic considering that (last I heard) you are going to implement cloud storage in Tuta.

It's a welcome change, I think, but it works against the incentive to diversify.
