Four #PalestineAction activists are to be sentenced with a “terrorist connection” despite never being charged with, or convicted of, any terrorism offence. The facts around this sentencing were hidden from the jury throughout the trial, meaning jurors had no idea that these young people would face terrorism sentences if found guilty on criminal damage charges.

These sentences are NOT accidental, they are part of a strategic effort by the UK government to be able to effectively deter whichever group they don’t agree with. This sentencing follows the unlawful proscribing of Palestine Action, but is technically unrelated to it and would take place regardless of whether the group remains proscribed or not.

If we do not oppose our government’s attempts to corrupt UK law, who will they choose to ban next? Trade Unions? Striking workers? Peaceful marches?
