So, I've been a LONG time "Data Horder🏴‍☠️ " but mostly have just downloaded and not shared anything myself.

However, I noticed that I have certain up to date Pro Wrestling shows that I can't seem to find on my usual torrent sites.

So I was wondering, when creating a torrent nowadays, are trackers *required*? or will certain sites index torrents through DHT?

If trackers are required, what are the most popular public trackers that I could use?

are you on private trackers tho? most piracy happens there nowadays. it's not an uncommon occurrence now for people to proclaim something is lost media only for it to have been available on private trackers. anyways, you can do DHT-only but the latency'll be worse there are lists of public trackers

@tentacle.expert Yeah...I don't do private because most require an invite or money and I don't have an invite and have very little money.😬

I was hoping someone with lots of tracker knowledge would come along and suggest something specific cause I'm not sure if there's shady trackers or whatever out there. Can I trust just seeding to the "top public trackers list"?🤔

you can easily join private trackers for free without knowing anyone. staff at some sites hold interviews to allow newbies in if they show they have the knowledge, e.g. interviewfor.red there isn't really such a thing as a shady tracker, but good starting points are gbitt.info and opentrackr.org
