A few decades ago, in a shared flat, we used my old 486 with floppy Linux as the home router. Every once in a while, the ISP would close the PPP connection, and you'd have to reset the machine for it to boot and dial in.

Of course I had explained this to my computer literate flatmates, and of course they forgot, and of course this happened when I was away for a few days.

So I came back, was confronted with "the Internet is broken!". Tripped the reset button, a few minutes later...

... everything worked fine.

I received a post-it note award stating "Internet repairer" on my door. I treasure it to this day.
