Immediately after the 2024 US election there was a naive knee jerk reaction where pundits would claim the country as a whole had shifted right, and that to win vulnerable groups like trans people need to be thrown under the bus.

A new analysis challenges that view, suggesting that what really happened was fewer left-leaning voters came to the polls in 2024.

They note one of the largest problems was lack of a strong economic message from Democrats.

That's quite the understatement. I remember all the pleas about 'I know they don't align with you, but if you don't vote Trump's worse' which isn't exactly a galvanising message.
