If something seems to good to be true, it often is
Like with the browser add-on #Honey from #PayPal
Something was itching
It seems the browser extension does replace affiliate references in links so PayPal gets commission on online purchases. Also replacing links from other affiliates

It's currently the main source for donations and server bills etc
The modern web is TERRIBLE if it comes to sending money or paying bills

in reply to stux⚡ • • •I'm not against this tactic if they are very transparent about it.
Like, if [good company or charity] said "Install our extension and we replace links around the web with our affiliate links so we make money" then maybe I'd be like "Cool."
But when it's done by a mega-corp in a sneaky way... then.. yeah. Not so cool.

in reply to stux⚡ • • •This browser extension has control over what discounts can be applied and not on stores that partner with #Honey
So if you find a better coupon value, #Honey can decide not to apply it or they just lie by giving lower discounts
"A win for everyone" they say.. but not the customer
