I never ever thought we would come to this! WTH happened America? I guess that’s a complicated issue, but really America?

any other country would have had to endure election monitoring on pain of losing their IMF credit limit already.

USA is not a democracy. This is not a 'constitutional crisis'. The Constitution is written down, and quite recently, in plain language by clever foresighted people. It's not the fucking Magna Carta.

MAGA and SCOTUS killed that.

It's not blood in the water. It's dead Jim. #Coup

this is like surreal living in the twilight zone, only that it's happening in real time and real-world. absolutely remarkable times.

The economist has been rating the US as a "flawed democracy" for almost a decade now, with a steadily declining score.

Considering the amount of Gerrymandering and voter suppression in the US, I am surprised that v-dem lists the US in the highest rank. That doesn't shine a good light on their data quality.

"The latest report still ranks the U.S. as a "Liberal Democracy," the highest of five tiers, one higher than Canada, which is classified as an "Electoral Democracy.""

I can't take any report serious on their valuation of what democracy is, that considers the US more democratic than most European countries and Canada. The US has always been a flawed democracy, with voter suppression, gerrymandering, land that is voting instead of one person, one vote, and only two parties to choose from.
