This November, you have the power to make Elon Musk waste 180 million dollars.

Really if you think about it, he would have wasted $44 billion. What good is the bird site if it fails him here? It certainly has no use as a profitable business or anything like that.
in reply to Rod Hilton

If we want to waste his money, we just need to start social media platforms that criticize him, so he will buy them. We can see which gives out first: his ego or his wallet.
in reply to Rod Hilton

And doesn't it say everything he is not dropping billions on his buddy.
in reply to Rod Hilton

Can it be $44 billion again?

No matter he’ll get that giant payoff from Tesla…when pigs fly.

in reply to Rod Hilton

I'll believe it when I see it: Elmo has a habit of sayin' things and then Not Following Through.

I don't think Elmo's going to give Trump a dime.

in reply to Rod Hilton

I thought that was what the cybertruck was about.
in reply to Rod Hilton

Your party managed to run off a sitting president. Why should we vote for you? No good choices?
in reply to Rod Hilton

Better government is the meat and potatoes.

Spite is the delicious rich thick creamy gravy.

in reply to Rod Hilton

last I looked that wasn't even half a percent of his wealth.

Great sentiment, but it'll be no skin off his arse.

in reply to Rod Hilton

unfortunately to Melon Husk it’s small change (prob tax deductable as well). Better to boycott the ‘ex bird’.
in reply to Rod Hilton

You know who really has power over that piece of shit Elon Musk?

Gavin Newsom.

With one stroke of the pen on a perfectly reasonable law (if you actually read it) he can make that asshole move his entire base of operations hundreds of miles away (which he won’t, despite his threats, because it’s a nightmare logistically).

Gavin Newsom sent out a message to him that he bent the knee. It was regarding Trump but if you read between the lines it was also meant as himself.

in reply to Rod Hilton

Musk doesn't need my help. Remember how he ended up buying Twitter.
in reply to Rod Hilton

to be fair I think he wastes that everyday on the cybertruck.
in reply to Rod Hilton

maybe it is less investment, than one test launch of Starship 😃 It is probably mostly hedging, "just in case - so the Trump crowd would not turn against him and his business if they win....
in reply to Rod Hilton

That's not a lot of time to build up a Potemkin social-media site, but OK :)
in reply to Rod Hilton

Tech bros including Musk think they can pick their guy for President on the cheap. But every headline saying they are dropping a ‘big’ wad here and there towards Trump and Vance, ensures another million women put their hands in their pocket for Harris. And each of those women will vote. This election won’t be won on X, it’s already been determined by the decisions of a Republican packed Supreme Court and the criminal and misogynistic behaviour of Trump.
in reply to Rod Hilton

after $+40B wasted on Twitter these $180M are like breadcrumbs for him, but then again, the more he looses the better it is. 😏

The Muskrat's endorsement is a powerful motivator to make me vote against Trump
in reply to Rod Hilton

I am praying to God you are wrong and President Donald J Trump is re-elected as the 47th President of the United States, if Trump loses we are doomed
in reply to Rod Hilton

180M is nothing to Elon.

Elon, Doe X and EV maker, is giving 45M/mo to Trump, Doe 174, who wants to end EVs.

Why would Elon put money on a guy who wants to end EVs?

Something has me thinking Kung Fu practice with Ghislaine isn't kung Fu practice.

in reply to Rod Hilton

I was voting anyway, but this will make it so much sweeter.
in reply to Rod Hilton

The shocking thing is that Trump thinks revealing he's accepting what is (although technically legal) effectively $180 million in prospective bribes makes him more appealing as a candidate.
in reply to Rod Hilton

And it doesn’t even go completely to waste. It just goes back into the economy. Where it should be. 😸
in reply to Rod Hilton

and lose a fuckton more since nothing he touches can make a profit without government intervention
in reply to Rod Hilton

Nope. Like 97% of the world's population (and the majority of Mastodon users, judging by the polls I've seen) I am not American.
I'd love the power to make Elon Musk spend $180m *wisely*, but that may well be beyond mere mortals.
