Is Putin personally responsible for every lawsuit that takes place in Russia?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the situation, but when I read the article it looked like the company sued google, the Russian courts implemented a fine, and that fine was to continuously rise as long as it was not being followed.

Maybe we need to start doing fines this way in the west for big companies so they stop treating Court judgments for legal violations like a cost of doing business.

@sj_zero I'm sure not but with this amount and Google it almost has too

It seems too important

LOL Putin sounds like a Karen.. "You sanction me? Then I'll sue you!!!1"

“A Russian court ordered Google to restore the [Russian state media Youtube] accounts and imposed a fine of $1,029 — or 100,000 rubles — every day that Google kept the channels down. That number doubled every week that Google kept the channels down, according to RBC.”

So that’s why Putin’s 2 week “military operation” is taking this long: they’re trying to recoup losses via Google…

Also: holy power of exponential growth, Batman!

how much do you bet that if google sells everything and enshittifies itself even more with more ads, it will male that money?
in reply to stux⚡

then again. The fine was in rubles. So we just wait for a few years and Google can pay the fine with $10.
in reply to stux⚡

No, he is very much sane and please stop claiming otherwise. Being a power-hungry ruthless dictator isn't a mental illness.

Nobody expects Google to pay this money, but this is a welcome excuse to push Google/YouTube out of Russia and disrupt their services in favor of local ones that the state can control.
