I was just chatting with a blind person in an online forum and they posted some gibberish, then apologized because they'd had their fingers misplaced when they started typing. Which made me think "I should write a python function to fix assorted off-by-X typing errors." followed by "...that'd be a simple but fun CTF gimmick..."

I think a more useful script is alert the user they are off by x. Kinda like when spell check Let’s me know I typoed and recommend a change. Willing to bet you would be more successful finding a notification that is a non-visual prompt. Off the top of my head, system wise, the caps lock indicator more than likely has a schema that includes an audible indicator or haptic feedback.
As a seeing typist, I don’t use visual clues to my typing, I revert to my old type writer days, we just emulate that most of the time with human IO.
