It’s not enough for the oiligarchs to get incentives pulled for purchasing #EVs, now they need to push for regulation do de-incentivize transitioning away from fossil-fuel powered cars. 🤦‍♂️

While I don't disagree that this isn't the smartest thing to do as far as incentivizing people goes, it's truly disheartening to see people prioritizing cost over everything, but only in the dumbest context possible.

Take their example Stephen Walton (who's 46, apparently, and that's really important... 🙄) - his wife wanted the EV for the environmental benefits, but for Stephen himself, if it doesn't have a financial benefit, it's no good. "This will be my first and last electric vehicle because there are no fiscal perks to being an EV car driver."

Why is it "this has to be cheaper or it sucks"? Did you want to benefit the environment or not? And, if being cheaper is the most important thing, why not cycle or take transit?

I always find there's a lot to unpack with these attitudes.
