This post on #LinkedIn feels like it came from someone who isn’t struggling to pay rent, put food on the table, find a job or struggling in life. When one is struggling, as we all have at times, being told to have positive thoughts is like a slap in the face. What’s really needed is support from family, friends and community.

I spent more time contemplating. There's a spectrum here with negative and positive thoughts off on either extreme ends -- these are fantastical thoughts. Like everything else in life, the best thing is at the median. The median is realistic thoughts.

Negative: I can't put food on the table, I'm going to starve to death.

Positive: That dream job is right around the corner and I will have a buffet every night!

Realistic: I am overspending on things I don't need, if I cut back, I can afford to eat. My job isn't paying enough, I can definitely sharpen my skills and get a better paying job.

it takes the same amount of energy to post dumb shit on linkedin as to venmo/paypal someone some mutual aid and yet I don’t see the Thought Leaders™ doing that either 🤔

Reminds me of certain situations when money is required but those who can make a difference just say thoughts and prayers.

If they really believed in the Bible and the teachings they would know...

Matthew 5:42: Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

Unfortunately, the world is full of hypocrits.
