reflecting lately that I really think #Wikipedia is one of the Great Works of Mankind - the fact that it functions at all, despite thousands of editors from across the world bringing their particular perspectives and opinions to it, is a minor miracle but also a testament to its extensive policies and importance on "consensus" (itself one of the "Five Pillars": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Five_pillars)

if you are a community manager you would do well to understand how this one functions, and the many rules and policies that underpin it. and then take a look at your "everyone just be chill ok" moderation style and realize you're out of your depth lol

yeah, I always non-ironically wanted the community to put together an application for it as one of the great intangible heritages of mankind. https://ich.unesco.org/en/home but in very wikipedian style most people thought that was arrogant ;)
