Tonight's movie is Leviathan (1989). I have never seen this underwater movie that was released he same year as another underwater movie, The Abyss (1989).

add Deep Star Six and you’ve got the trifecta of 1989 underwater movies

I totally forgot about Deep Star Six. Now I got a mission to finish watching the ‘89 Underwater Movie Trifecta! Thanks for the pointer.

DeepStar Six and Leviathan were competeting sci-fi horror movies that came out within months of each other, and both were awful. If memory serves, they were rushed projects, as they were aware of each other productions.

The Abyss trailed in release date, and is more sci-fi. It's one of my all-time favorites.

I kinda dug Leviathan 😇😅

It definitely wasn’t a good movie, rather it was so bad it was entertaining.

I found DeepStar Six streaming free on Pluto and am planning on watching it this weekend for the first time to complete the ‘89 Underwater Trilogy.

I'm just not a fan of horror. The movie is fine up until the part where they start drinking. 🤔

I’m not a fan of horror either, I’m too chicken for the genre.

But somehow creature features capture my attention. I’m a fan of the more recent underwater creature feature aptly named Underwater also (the one with Kristen Stewart).

I liked Underwater, and have seen it several times now.

Anything underwater, on water, or in space I'm likely going to watch 🙂

@Starcade I think Underwater is underrated. It just starts with a bang, pits the pedal to the metal and never lets up. Love it!

Agreed! It's so good. I've watched it a bunch of times. And at 95 minutes, it's a quick watch. The runtime just flies by because, like you said, it just never lets up.
