This was the worst of the '89 Underwater Creature Features. This movie is just bad, pure schlock.

It takes more than an hour for the creature to show up onscreen. This is disappointing for a creature feature. The creature was meh. The first hour is boring trying to develop weak characters.

The bloody diving suit was pure camp. Miguel Ferrer's character was the most memorable. The use of minitures doesn't look good, but I applaud them for trying.

Rated 1 out of 10.

I remember seeing this in the theater, during the "undersea monster" phase of Hollywood with "Leviathan."

I watched Leviathan last night, it was soooo bad that it was good. I really enjoyed it.

It wasn’t that long ago since I watched both this and Leviathan and I have a hard time sorting out which is which even now.

@dlundh

Ping me a few months from now about these two. I'll probably in the same boat.

Miguel Ferrer was the only good thing about DeepStar Six. He was just coming off Robocop too.

Unfortunately, even though he continued to act, I don't remember him in anything since DeepStar Six

@Starcade

I can’t either and had to look up his acting credits. He’s one of those actors that is everywhere, but hard to remember. It looks like he’s done a lot of voice acting — which is great because he does have such a distinctive voice.

You can't forget this scene :-) He kind of faded out after that, but he was memorable in Twin Peaks.
