As Andy Burnham continues to talk up a (relatively) new approach to social housing in England, perhaps now (as Phin Harper suggests) its time to look back 75 years at the Festival of Britain, but not to the South Bank, rather its radical experiment in community-focussed housing in Poplar.
The Right has spent decades rubbishing the FoB but now 75 years later so much of it seems to have been a window onto a better world, one that we should look at(again).
