🚨 PSA: Taylor Farms has issued another major recall. This time it's salmonella in jalapeño products: salsa, guacamole, pico de gallo, and prepared foods sold at Walmart, Kroger, Whole Foods, Target, Trader Joe's, and Hannaford across 26 states.

The CDC reports 345 people sickened and 36 hospitalized across 27 states. No deaths. Chipotle and Qdoba have already pulled jalapeños from their menus.

This comes less than a month after Taylor Farms' last recall: cyclospora from shredded iceberg lettuce, which the CDC describes as causing 'frequent and sometimes explosive bowel movements.'

Check your fridge. Affected products have Best If Used By dates up to August 16, 2026. Discard or return for a full refund.

oh lovely, remember when the agencies protecting our food could and did have the resources, staff and well mandate to test our food. You know we could mostly trust what we ate. Ah those were the days...

@ppb1701 man remember when we were at least somewhat protected by the government that we pay billions in taxes to?

thankfully, Virginia isn't on the list, and the Walmart-brand ("Freshness Guaranteed") guacamole I bought in Winchester last week doesn't have jalapenos (it looks like it's just Walmart-brand Pico that made the list for Walmart).
