What if it’s more like entropy is a pressure wave, where we just happen to be in an area where the pressure is now changing from low to high, and later a new low pressure wave will pass through the area. It gives the same cyclic result, but in a way that doesn’t require that the entire universe coordinate to do the same thing at the same time. If the wavelength was somewhat larger than the observable universe, then we would never be able to see indications that it’s a wave.
