Mozilla wants to know what you want them to focus on in the next few years. A lot of them are stuff about AI. Y’all should tell them how you feel about that mozillafoundation.tfaforms.net…
Quite annoying that they don't even mention the main problem of this kind of "AI": the huge energy cost & associated pollution, at a crucial time when we should be reducing all that. And all that cost for a system that is inaccurate and steals from artists and creators.
@elduvelle there's even the option to pick that "leveraging ai to help address climate, racial, gender justice" is important to you. Because of course that's how we fix anything. By wasting even more energy on bullshit generators.
@elduvelle unless the items are randomized, the options I saw seemed to be biased towards "AI isn't a problem, the only thing that can be an issue is labeling or regulation", I mean, that's a giant leap from "Why are you even considering AI?". It's bound to bias the results.
(Having "AI steals jobs" as a thing there may also suggest, given the rest, bias towards "Generative Autocomplete can replace homo sapiens", which is a huge misconception to have when dealing with LLMs...)
1000% not surprised to find that "What is most important to you in AI" is the only multiple-choice question without an "Other" / freeform text entry, preventing anyone from saying that the most important thing is not existing.
