Oh great strikes on Iran are under way. So far just cruise missiles fired by the US and Israel during day light hours.

The Trump administration is claiming this is a regime change operation and they encouraged Iranians to "rise up".

If the US plan is for Iranians to rise up, then maybe they and Israel should strike fewer civilians.

They massacred an entire girls school in the opening salvos. Struck colleges and bombed targets in civilian neighborhoods sending scores of people running for their lives and filming it for all Iranians to see.

This is more likely to unite Iranians against the aggressors than foment a civil war.

BREAKING: Video is emerging from scenes of joint Israel & US missile strikes on a civilian girls school in Iran.

63 Iranian children were killed at this one location with an additional 60 students wounded by US missiles.

Why the fuck are our tax dollars being used to massacre the kids at the Shajareh Tayyebeh girls' school?

The Iranian response has been SWIFT!

In Bahrain, where the US Navy's 5th Fleet support facility was seen receiving multiple direct strikes to the base.

Trump claims the US's goal has been to decapite Iran's leadership. Its clear that has not been effective.

Iran simultaneously fired ballistic missiles at Israel, Bahrain, UAE, Qatar, Saudi, Kuwait ALL within ONE hour!

The strikes by Iran on US assets appear to be well planned and accurately targeted.

Fast moving ballastic missiles appear to my eyes to be hitting radar's and other CRITICAL air defense equipment.

Secondary waves of SLOW & CHEAP Iranian drones then immediately exploited these openings.

Additional footage from Bahrain's US Navy installation show this strategy clearly at work hitting AD radome.

Early this morning the US has been claiming "no American casualties" and that just sounds like utter bullshit after seeing this footage. Key to keep in mind is that many of these videos were filmed and uploaded by US personel. In some clips you can CLEARLY hear their disbelief & terror as missiles made it through air defense systems unstopped.

UPDATE - Yes it was bullshit 3 US troops KIA several others injured and Trump says to expect more KIAs

The strategic situation is also much more complex at this moment than many American's likely understand.

There's a LOT of Russian and Chinese military assets already in the area due to joint exercises they recently did in partnership with Iran.

They are not likely to kinetically interact with the US or Israel but are likely providing the exact same type of ISR feeds to Iran that the US fed Ukraine during the initial Russian attacks on Kyiv.

Iran is kinda OP right now.

middleeastmonitor.com/20260217…

in reply to nullagent

Literally just TWO days ago China was publicly flexing their ISR capability. On the 26th they published maps and photos of where the US's most valuable fighter jets were stationed.

The US flew hundreds of flights over the last week to move these fighter jets and their support crews into theater.

It's clear China has the ability to track US assets in near realtime and likely published these maps as a deterrent.

So I've been digging through the OSINT on the brewing US conflict on Iran for basically the last month and another aspect I've been keenly watching is the sale of Chinese made anti-ship missiles to Iran.

Having high quality missiles used to be unique to the US, but now EVERYONE has missiles.

And the problem is that missiles are a massive existential threat to US carrier groups.

in reply to nullagent

So you gotta ask yourself...

If Iran (alone) can do THIS to a key strategic US Navy installation within ONE hour of US aggression. A base with world class air defense.... what fucking chance in hell do aircraft carriers have to stay in this fight for the long haul?

So lets all listen carefully to how the US media spins this, because if Iran can keep this up the US is gonna have a couple fewer military installations in short order.

Now of course ballistic and hypersonic missiles aren't everything, Iran's strategy still contains a TON of small missile attack boats designed to swarm US carriers.

The small boats have a mix of cheap multi-launch missile systems as well as high end anti-ship guided missiles(some can go 1000km!!).

They ALSO include anti-aircraft missiles so the can lay in wiat to interdict US aircraft on their way to Iran.

They have thousands of these water craft.

Iran has fired missiles towards several countries who host American military bases.

They generals state that they are currently using their oldest missiles for the initial response strikes and that their campaign will intensify and increase in quality as they begin pulling out their new technology.

An aspect that the map above either was out of date for or willfully doesn't count is the reality that missile interceptors FREQUENTLY fail and will fall & deteonate on the civilians they were supposedly deployed to protect.

In Qatar an interceptor failed and didn't self destruct either. Civilians were forced to run for their lives.

The US media almost NEVER reports on this aspect of missile defense systems.

I think these strikes were designed to economically cripple anyone whose supporting or enabling the US and Israel.

It's also not just some tragedy. Its a DIRECT message to stop targetting the civilian leadership of the Iranian government.

The US KNEW targeting the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and President Masoud Pezeshkian would mean a "total war" response.

So Iran is willing to strike Dubai. A target valued by the world's top capitalist.

Trump literally just tried to KILL the civilian leadership of a foreign nation with NO congressional approval at all!

For the US, by its own rules, this entire operation was illegal from this first missile fired.

So while I call it like I see it, "Iran hit civilians", its hard as fuck to think that justifies ANYTHING America and Israel is doing right now.

I think the US and Israel should leave Iran the fuck alone and stop fucking around.

So I pray that the US military has the exact same take as this sailor whose video is going viral this morning.

So its now night time in Bahrain and the Iranian drones are NOT letting up.

It's going to take time to review these more carefully.

A thing to know about the US Navy in Bahrain is that they don't have on base housing.

This means basically the most hated military target in one of the most critical locations disperses it's military force among the civilian populace ON purpose to make them hard to target without harming civilians.

I suspect we're seeing Iran taking that gamble.

#Bahrain #Iran

in reply to nullagent

The Iranian missile strikes are ALSO unrelenting in Bahrain tonight.

They have continued to hit the US military base with missiles.

There's growing chatter of a full blown US air defense failure in multiple countries right now. Again, going to take time to understand as an OSINT nerd but this seems like US AD is overwhelmed.

They may still be making a lot of intercepts when you understand the volume of fire coming from Iran ...

in reply to nullagent

And that's the rub.

If this is an air war, the US is "supposed" to dominate.

Earlier in the day US missiles were seen pounding Iran's mountain missile bases and various storage facilities.

The fact Iran's making strikes tonight means there's NO meaningful impact to Iran's offensive capabilities.

Again, it's likely some AD is still working in and near Bahrain and we're only seeing the 10% or whatever rate of missiles and drones that make it through.

Iran's still operating as normal I think

in reply to nullagent

Qatar is also suffering notable air defense failures.

This video is VERY interesting. In it we see an Iranian ballistical missile just plain out maneuvering TWO missile intercepters and scoring a direct hit on a US base. Likely further degrading their air defense capabilities.

On the ground footage in Tel Aviv shows extensive collateral damage to city blocks.

Much like the Bahrain apartment building, it's too early to know if there was a military target in the area.

To my eyes both sides Iran & Israel have previously and currently been acting on targeting intelligence that revealed high value military targets in civilian areas. It took a lot of time for public OSINT to catch up. I think we're seeing some of that rn

The last time Israel attacked Iran it cost around $1 billion dollars to defend Israel from Iran's $80M missile response.

I think we might be watching a couple BILLION in US assets going up in smoke tonight.

The radar systems in Bahrain alone, which Iran likely damaged/destroyed, are worth $1B. The US likely fired nearly $1B of missile interceptors as well over night.

The going debate in OSINT spaces seems to be around just how many drones and missiles does Iran have versus the US's intercetpors and replacement parts for early warning radars?

So far its sounds like the US+Israel has weeks of missile interceptors but Iran has MONTHS worth of missiles and drones.

So if some sort of ceasefire is not reached these drone strikes day and night all over the region could become routine.

Developing story in Kuwait, an American F-15 pilot reportedly crash landed and locals could be heard in videos discussing calling an ambulance.

It's unclear if the aircraft was shotdown or suffered some sort of fault.

Video showed the American F15 in a flat spin and apparently on fire moments before crashing into the ground.

Again its unknown if or how the jet sustained damange.

To my eyes it does seem damaged but its hard to know if it was returning from a mission and limping home or was it damaged by an Iranian drone during a shoot down mission?

There have been reports from the Russia / Ukraine conflict of long range drones being equipped with rear facing air-to-air missiles.

This F15 crash in Kuwait is sounding increasingly like a US "friendly" fire incident.

Back to that friendly fire incident in Kuwait, now I'm reading into this a little bit but I'm noticing OSINT folks talking about the Al Udeid Airbase in Qatar which housed the CAOC - Combined Air Operations Center.

Due to the continuous stream of Iranian drones in missiles hitting the base US veterans are speculating that the center is out of commission.

That could be a HUGE problem for US air operations as this was a clearing house of data from 20 country's airspace.

BREAKING - There's video coming out of Turkey showing smoke rising over the American run Incirlik Air Base.

This marks I believe the furthest extent yet of Iranian missile / drone attacks targeting American military bases.

This comes hot on the heals of news that a British airbase in Cyprus was also directly struck by an Iranian drone over the weekend.

Earlier in the night before RAF Akrotiri was struck British PM Keir Starmer said the Brits would support the Americans by opening bases for their use.

And right on schedule Iran immediately added the Brits to the target list.

Just hearing that a massive Saudi Aramco refinery facility in Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia has just been struck by Iranian attacks and has been evacuated of all workers.

Monday show's NO signs of deescalation in West Asia.

UPDATE - Iran claims this attack was NOT them, this could be an attempt by a 3rd party to drag Saudi Arabia into the conflict.

In a curious development it seems a total of at least THREE US F15 pilots were seen being helped away from wreckage in Kuwait.

It's looking increasingly likely that more than one US fighter jet was downed by friendly fire in this incident.

Holyshit, yea... there's been more friendly fire incidents for sure in Kuwait.

During the US's conflicts with Yemen in the past two years there's also been a significant number of friendly fire situations.

In those earlier situations Yemen fired and launched missiles and drones which flew back towards airbases right along side F15's as they were heading home.

I wonder if that type of "follow home" situation might be at play here?

Something seems very off today.

Ok just noticed a statement from an official Kuwaiti military account on Twitter acknowledged the friendly fire incident stating "several" planes were accidentally shot down.

Not sure if the "several" is a translation artifact or the actual intent of the speaker? If it were just the two F15s I'd hope they'd just say "two".

Guess we'll have to wait to hear more details on this as it develops.

In an update from the US military's CENTCOM they confirm a total of THREE F15 friendly fire incidents and SIX crew members ejecting safely.

Unconfirmed footage is also circulating of one of the six pilots possibly being assaulted by Kuwaiti's on the ground.

I have not been able to verify that clip so not posting for now.

One thing is for sure... its becoming clear that despite the US' allies in the region the

Gonna touch grass today I'll try and get caught up on updates before I sign off.

This weekend has been pretty crazy, I'd say more than any conflict I've observed this one has an absurd amount of gen-AI disinformation circulating.

There's also a TON of combat footage from previous Iran/Israel entanglements plus completely unrelated conflict zones being passed off as new.

in reply to nullagent

It takes a tremendous amount of time and effort to filter out the noise and try to share the most accurate realtime info I can.

This type of reporting also comes with a pretty big mental health toll as there's a continuous stream of content depicting civilian injuries & deaths on all sides which I typically do not post.

So anyways hold your loved ones close this week and value the joy you can find, it feels more fleeting than ever.

Around the time that I signed off yesterday, Iran's capitol Tehran was undergoing intense Israeli & US bombing campaigns which landed in civilian neighborhoods.

The early death toll from that day stands around 500 dead Iranians, with many more missing and possibly dead.

Iranian's were reportedly seen beginning to dig expansive graveyards to process the flow of dead civilians caused by the previous few days of conflict.

Also around the time Tehran was bombed, Lebanon was also seeing intense Israeli bombing directly on civilians.

It turns out that Israel was attempting to kill Hezbollah's leaders after their relatively small attack on an Israeli base after Khamenei's assassination.

In response Israel level whole civilian city blocks.

Israel appears to be opening up a ground invasion Lebanon...

CW: Pakistani cop shoots towards protesters.

It's important to note that this conflict and especially the news of Khamenei's assassination have sparked significant protests are MANY American embassies in the region.

And in turn, local police have turned up to put down the protests and this has resulted in dozens of dead civilians who have died at the hands of local cops.

In one such incident from Pakistan local cops and US marines killed & injured protesters.

In Bahrain, protesters were seen throwing molotovs at local cops while Iran continued to bomb US bases over head.

Partner's of Bahrain have been trying to move more troops in to put down protests and guard smoldering US bases but Iran also crashed drones into key bridges needed to cross into the territory.

Will be interesting to see if those new forces are welcomed as warmly...

One thing is becoming very clear. The US can strike Iran and VERY hard. The west can kill pretty much any specific Iranian they want.

BUT Iran can absolutely flip the table.

The US bases are not safe.
The typical R&R spots are not safe.
The US Embassies are not safe.

Even standing too close to those things and especially playing host to the US now makes your economy a fair target to Iran.

With shipping closed, countries like Suadi Arabia can face a food crisis in weeks.

in reply to nullagent

I'm also starting to hear geopol experts pointing now to the vulnerability of water desalination plants in the region.

If Iran targets these MANY Gulf States will have water shortages as some rely on these plants for up to 60% of their clean drinking water.

Iran is really holding all the cards.

Imo the region needs the US to beg for a ceasefire in only a handful of days.

The breaking news I'm following now is that Israel+US bombed the Iranian Assembly of Experts during Supreme Leader vote.

This was an attempted political assassination on a grand scale!

Now Iran does have a complex succession strategy which includes not allowing all leaders in to this vote so, per usual these were VERY brave people who simply went to vote on their next leader.

Iranian media claims that none of the council of elders were injured because they held the vote in a different location.

There's a ton of former US military officiers giving very grim assessments of the US's current position in this unnecessary war.

U.S. Army officer Stanislav Krapivnik makes the same observation I noticed, that US soldiers were filming and posting videos of their bases being bombed AFTER they were evacuated from the bases.

Iran is NOW collecting+acting on that intel (or had it already) to target the hotels troops are sheltering in.

Opsec fail.

Meanwhile Retired U.S. Army Colonel and former Secretary of Defense advisor Douglas Macgregor says the US Navy will be using ports in India.

He underscores the real risk now is that Iran has already destroyed most US bases and shown they can and will respond to Israel's aggression with a relentless missile war.

The experts are starting to worry that Israel will try to use a nuke on Iran when they run out of missile defenses.

Not only does the US air strategy not work... I have my doubts about the US experts saying things like they will rely on Indian ports now.

As if the actual Indians want this crap coming to them. Many Indian Muslims are grieving just as much as Pakistan.

Increasing US military presence is just going to add additional internal conflict for India. I worry US military personnel won't be safe at any viable port.

The US also seriously miscalculated on the economic impacts Iran can create.

TikTokers Hasan Piker talks the web of economic damage caused by Iran closing the Strait of Hormuz.

Japan says they had NO warning about the US going to war. The country gets 70% of its oil through the Strait and has less than a year of reserves.

Japan warns the unplanned economic fallouts of war will be an issue for them.

Again, I gotta repeat, I've never seen the US propaganda machine trying to walk back a military intervention so hard in my LIFE.

We got former CIA analysts like Larry Johnson saying if the US is gonna kill an Iranian, why would they kill someone like Khamenei?

Khamenei has politically blocked Iran from completing a nuclear weapon for 36 years.

Johnson argues, that's the type of person he'd expect the US to leave in power.

I'm not going to post any more CIA talking heads, but there's a raft of them and quite a number of former spooks I don't trust are saying this whole Iran idea was a bad idea.

Democratic politicians like Jeff Merkley are saying Trump's actions are wholely unconstitutional.
