This is actually kinda important.
You see, some of us called this back in ye earlie '10s, that there was no viable business case for VR to justify Meta's investment - we were of course poo-poo'ed, because if a company the size of Meta wants something to happen, they'll make it happen.
Turns out no, they will not, because even with billions upon billions to burn, even Meta can't make something out of nothing.
We, The Market™️, rejected this. We have more power than we think.
Remember how we were all supposed to be "left behind" if we don't jump on the Metaverse bandwagon? Especially businesses?Yeah, about that:
theverge.com/tech/863209/meta-…But today we should treat absolutely seriously all the bullshit about "being left behind" if we don't adopt "AI"! 🤡
Meta has discontinued its metaverse for work, too
Meta is discontinuing Horizon Workrooms and Meta Horizon managed services, amidst its many VR layoffs.Sean Hollister (The Verge)

What did Apple do when they cancelled the car? They moved those staff and resources to work on AI instead ( bloomberg.com/news/articles/20… ).
