This is the only book of 20 on my list, I came to know at school.

This short drama from 1948 by Swiss author Max Frisch tells the story of the "good citizen" Biedermann, who invites a couple of arsonists into his home, ignoring all clear signals of their intentions.

It remains brutally relevant, more than 75 years after its first publication.

Have you read the letter that Wolfgang Hildesheimer wrote to Frisch in 1981 "zur Festschrift für Max Frisch".
One of my fav German books.
Very highly recommended.
