Friendica updated to the latest stable. Man this was fast. Huge thanks to the wonderful people behind Friendica and also Yunohost.

Testing the Peertube embed:

I wonder if I now paste a Peertube link it can embed the player directly into the post. That would be amazing.

I thought I saw an embedded Peertube video working in a friendica post.

Is just pasting the URL not working? Hm, with both options shown in your screenshot enabled, I still only see the link in both your and my post.

It is working this way:

  • If you just paste the Peertube URL it creates a link preview with the embed Peertube video and the description. Is cool but can be a lot since instead of just grabbing the video it grabs it all: title, description, etc.
  • If you use the VIDEO code tag it can just embed the video inline, which is perfect. However it still creates a link preview like above which is not ideal.
