Many people—including whistleblowers, political dissidents, or those in vulnerable situations—rely on anonymity to stay safe. Linking a real-world identity to every social media account removes the ability to speak freely without fear of real-world retaliation. In tech policy, what starts as a measure "to protect the children" often evolves into a standard for everyone. Age is the "Trojan Horse."

If an age helps vulnerable/young people, I'm prepared to support it. I dont want personal freedom at the expense of damage to someone else.

I like how the media makes fun of Russia for banning VPNs. But Europe is following the same steps and somehow this is different and they constantly explain how they protect us. Absolute hypocrisy.

The Digital Statute of Children and Adolescents (ECA Digital - Law No. 15211/2025) in Brazil, regulated by Decree 12880/2026, explicity requires operating system providers to implement age verification mechanisms.

Law No. 15211/2025, Article 12 , combined with Decree 12880/2026, Article 2 and Article 15.

to be fair, the portuguese bill explicitly bans id checks, only allowing for age verification through zero knowledge proof mechanisms
