Amazing. I saw it just east of London too!!! Not as impressive as yours though hahah.
in reply to Howard Cheng

@Howard Nice that you could see it too, and I am so glad I didn't went home earlier.

Where were you spotting from? My sighting wasn't as impressive as yours, but was pretty nice to be able to see it from as low in latitude as London!

This is what my sighting was like tonight. It only lasted a short period of time so glad I managed to snap this!

@scozmos Unfortunately no, I had been out for 4 hours photographing stars when it showed up, so the battery was almost empty 😪

So irritating, I hope they dissapeared later.

Well, I first set the timer for 1am on the 14th because the forecast said the sky would be clear @ambivalena then I realised it usually clears earlier so, I changed the time to 23:59 but not the date!! 😱 I woke around 2am and went out to the camera, no photographs so, I reset it :)

@scozmos Ah okej, so irritating.
I lost a lot of photos to, because I forgot to set a 2 second delay on last night, so there was a lot of images with blurry stars 😮‍💨

It's a little annoying when we make these simple mistakes but, not the end of the world @ambivalena 👍

You had some awesome aurora there. We had some too, apparently. Not visible to the naked eye in our region yet but it is promising for the coming season.
in reply to Ambivalena :verigold:

Not nearly as amazing as your aurora shot, but I posted a shot a got early this morning. It was cloudy and super windy where I planned to photograph this morning at Mono Lake (forecast was way wrong) so I made a dash up to a high meadow in Yosemite Nat Pk to try there. It was nice, but cold. Was amazing to see aurora again, surprising, too! Sadly, I just missed a super bright bolide whose glowing trial lasted at least 3-4 seconds before dissipating.

@elaterite Ok, forecasts are tricky things sometimes. And I guess it waa really nice to great the aurora back after the summer 🤩

Ahhh, so typical :/

in reply to Luke MacNeil

@luke Thanks a lot, I think it is one of my best shots of the aurora this far.
But this season will probably be plenty more chances like this, since the sun is on its 11year cycle peak ☺️
