Explanations:
1. September - "Theia"
Inspired by the (current favourite) theory about how the Earth gained its axial tilt and single large satellite - another smaller planet (nicknamed Theia) collided and merged with us very early in the solar system's formation, around 4.5 billion years ago, knocking us over a bit and sending material out that would form our moon.
So I thought I'd paint Theia's final approach. Bye bye, Theia.
(This was actually sparked by a monthly art challenge about changing seasons, and of course, it is our axial tilt that means we have them in the way we do at all.)

1. October - "Zombie Pumpkin"
   Made for a monthly art challenge about all things spooky. My friend provided some great free reference photos of different types of gourd, amongst which was this grey pumpkin, which just entered my mind as The Zombie Pumpkin, and stuck.

2. November - "Snowy Mountains"
   For a monthly art challenge about snow and ice, I used my own photo from a trip to the French Alps, many years ago.
