These photos are from a period of research in Kiruna and Umeå where I was looking at Sámi dramaturgy and reflecting on what Gaelic theatre in Scotland can learn from them!

There are three friends in this picture, two swedes and a Norwegian. They are all in their twenties with light hair. Behind them is the rest of the Arctic lake, there are hills and some boats. It is a beautiful scene. There is also a pink pentagon like a sticker with a reindeer stood over it.

There is another selfie of me and a friend, we both have short hair, mine is dark and hers is ginger. We are smiling at the camera in front of an arctic lake.
This is a selfie of me, a thirty two year old old with dark hair and a small beard. I am smiling whilst wearing an orange cap and a matching orange jacket. I am stood in front of an Arctic mountain in the late summer. There is a sign beside me advertising Lappdånals (a joke referring to Sámi McDonald’s), there is also a wooden sign post pointing to various Norrland places.
This is two pictures split down the middle, on the left is a colourful wall mural of a flower and a sign for the Women’s History Museum in Umeå. In the right is a view of the sunset over the river Ume in Umeå. There are black trees on the furthest bank of the river. It is a peaceful image.
