England's High Court rules as unlawful the ban on Palestine Action

The judgment followed a 'judicial review of a case brought by Palestine Action's co-founder Huda Ammori."

The court ruled that the ban was discriminatory & resulted in very significant interference with the right of freedom of speech & assembly.

~ 3,000 people were arrested under terrorism laws for holding signs in support of the group.

Analysis: "Starmer’s ban on Palestine Action was done to protect the arms industry"

A Channel 4 doco on Palestine Action’s proscription as a terrorist organisation alleges the proscription was done at the behest of Elbit Systems.

The doco cites evidence - including a 2023 internal Home Office email stating: "Reassure Elbit Systems UK... that the government cares about the harm the group is causing the private sector".

And so why does Labour feel happy about constraining jury trials... well, look what happens when Palestine Action defendants are judged by a ;jury of their peers' - not guilty, or no verdict(s) result.

The joy of the jury system is it can deliver verdicts the state really doesn't want... which is why its valuable, and why Labour is happy to see it constrained (for other reasons).

"The UK is complicit in grave violations of international law and has not only failed to meet its international legal obligations, but has actively breached them. Some British citizens, concerned with justice, international law, and human rights, have peacefully stepped in to challenge their government’s wrongdoing. The state’s response has been to criminalise dissent while presenting repression as democratic self-defence"
