In Akkoma the language selector dropdown is large enough, however despite me listing my instance uses two languages (English and Swedish, with a default to English) it insists on listing EVERY LANGUAGE EVER SPOKEN IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE HAVE FUN SCROLLING THAT SUC*ER! 🤣
It takes ages, and is fiddly, to get to the correct option. Yet I do that whenever I remember and am about to post in Swedish, as some of the swedes have filtered out everything not-swedish.
Also, as I know you are interested in these things, when I had a (very quick) look around in Sharkey I couldn’t find a language selector at all.

I said it elsewhere, but I say it here too, I HATE how corporate social media sites have taken SOCIAL out of social media.
Thankfully the Fediverse is mostly taking that back. But if we don't expand to get those that are still on corporate social media to move here, then we'll just become the echo chambers we hate. That's why the Threads integration is a good thing. We need to expand.

Current state of Nord-ifying Akkoma. Will post it as a theme when I’m done, still trying out different variations of “everything”, and I need things to “settle” before I commit to them.
Right now the buttons have been scaled back from blue-ish for example. Not sure I like it more/less just yet.
Hey #Akkoma peeps, is anyone else periodically getting dropped interactions from Mastodon dot Social?
I’ve noticed a few times when I view an interaction on another instance that sometimes, there’s posts from there that never show up here…and using Webfinger doesn’t seem to work? 🤔

FYI, for those #akkoma / #akkomane users interested ...
phanpy (eg, phanpy.social) seems to work well with akkomane / akkoma.
It provides deck/columns and picks up on the longer post length too.
No separate post editing view though ... but you can pop it out into a separate window.
No awareness of the local only visibility, which reveals how dire mastodon's influence over that feature has become IMO.
And the wonderful catch-up feature seems to work too!

It's completely asinine that an instance I've defederated from that doesn't use "authorized fetch" (proprietary mastodon implementation) can see my posts and interact with them as if I can see them.
I'm basically giving promotions to asshats in my replies from gross instances because blocks don't work like they should...
This is why I don't see Threads federating with these platforms for very long. Every Fedi software that doesn't adopt Authorized Fetch, will be breaking their terms. There IS a few proposals on how AP could officially implement a similar feature, but as of right now, it's the wild west here.
