Humanism Spring • 24 x 36 inches; approx 61 cm by 91 cm • available mailed anywhere for suggested donation of $400 or more. I paint non-representationally to free my mind from processing things. Relatedly, I prefer to describe the feelings of my images and not the physical appearance. The feeling I seek when creating and looking at abstract painting is a free flow of thoughts like when I’m gazing at clouds or listening to jazz. What appears in the images I create is less important than what is not in my paintings. The real world is absent. References to the physical are minimal. Yes it’s made up of colors, lines, and shapes on a flat rectangular surface, but there’s no horizon, no definite up or down, no symbolism. The intent of my visual art is to encourage the mind to be free. It is a practice of mental health and meditation first and a decorative art second.
