Alice and Frieda

‘Alice and her daughter Frieda sit in the parking lot. Alice knows what other parents judge her for – being a mother who can’t get her child to school. Frieda, now eight, has autism and is one of the thousands of children in Australia experiencing “school refusal”, also known as “school can’t” – children who have difficulty attending school due to emotional distress."
