Ok here’s the plan. #jellyfinjune is a series of videos / livestreams I’ll be releasing on YouTube.

The 30 day challenge will begin by ceremonially removing plex from my life (perhaps you’ll join me?) followed by detailed explorations of recreating the Plex experience (and beyond) using FOSS.

Each video (1-2 per week for the month of June) will go through different aspects of #jellyfin for example:
- video 1 - JF setup
- video 2 - in-depth look at plugins
- video 3 - iOS/tvos clients
- video 4 - music and clients

And so forth. So please, submit me all your tips and tricks using the #jellyfinjune tag. I’m sure some of you have reallllly neat stuff up your sleeves…

Hmm, Plex's main advantages are: A) easy to stream content from your server to others (who don't have to be tech-literate, and can use it like signing up for Netflix) and B) a polished UI. $750 is a lot to ask for just this...

Holy smokes.... Plex is *tripling* the price of a lifetime pass, from $250 to $750(!) starting July 1.

Now might be a good time to consider Jellyfin (or Emby), even if Jellyfin's not as polished/slick as Plex?
