@bonno I'm not sure what the reasoning is, do you mean the EU should not care about polluting because some other country is polluting more?
It's quite the opposite: the EU should show the way to a pollution-free economy, even more so if other countries are not pulling their weight. The most polluting countries should be held accountable for their contribution to global warming and the EU can't do that if it's also polluting.
Plus if you take into account the fact that EU countries were historically the ones most polluting , during the industrial revolution, which gave them an economical advantage, you can't just criticise other countries for following the same path.. Instead the EU should be trying to pollute even less and as quickly as possible because they are historically responsible for this mess.
