Streetartwall. An enchanting mural of a girl in comic style is sprayed on a narrow exterior wall of a modern building above a staircase. The girl is wearing a blue top and long stockings in bright rainbow colors. She has big eyes, a small nose and a small mouth. On closer inspection, her curly, wispy hair is made up of beautifully written colorful words, e.g. the names of the artists Vinie, Akhine and the organizer Collectif Renart, 2020, etc. The girl is sitting with her legs crossed over the entrance to the house and the stairs, holding a small fox on her lap. Another fox is lying on the floor next to the stairs. A beautiful splash of color that brightens up the whole area. Info: The girl figure is from "Vinie", the foxes from "Akhine".

For at least two years, an empty boarded-up building in St Henri has been making the street seem a bit derelict.

This week, a rogue guerrilla wood artist(s) struck!

It looks so much better!

The unknown wood sculpturist(s) has done several ‘hammer’-by art ‘attacks’ on abandoned sites in the neighbourhood.

Kinda wish they’d tag or sign their work so we’d have a name.

The artist wanted to represent freedom and coexistence by using some elements such as endemic species from Colombia like the jaguar, hummingbirds or butterflies. The female figure of Palanquera comes from a village called San Basilio de Palenque, the first slave-free village in Colombia.

October 2024, Peaks Island, Maine. Three years ago there was a wild Nor'Easter that swept through the Portland area. A large tree came down leaving this stump that a local sculptor turned into a fabulous octopus. Former stump-now-octopus and its creator are shown in the attached photo.
