Seeing that #Google has been a shitty search engine for far too long and #DuckDuckGo perhaps not being sufficient for the privacy conscious or #FOSS enthusiasts, I'm giving #SearXNG a try.

Unlike the aforementioned search engines, SearXNG is very configurable in terms of how and from where it grabs results for you, but just from my short test with its already sane defaults - it's giving me the right, helpful results that I expect instead of blasting me with hundreds of sites that are clones of each other or filled with AI-written answers/content. It's also faster or just as fast as Google at giving me results, and certainly faster than other alternative search engines I've used in the past like #DDG, #Bing, or #Ecosia.

You could self-host SearXNG yourself, or you could do what most people are already doing here on the #Fediverse and pick the best available SearXNG instance for you from their list. I picked #OpnXNG (https://opnxng.com) as it's hosted nearest to me, in Singapore.
