Dolphins and even humpback whales have occasionally been sighted in the East River between Manhattan and Brooklyn, though I haven’t been fortunate enough to see them. Here are some of the river’s more regular visitors.

This little one spent most of the morning following me around as I tidied up my garden, and pouncing on all the little creatures I accidently disturbed. Given the number of worms and other creepy-crawlies it consumed, I'm amazed it could still get airborne by the time I'd finished!
