Yesterday, we went out on San Francisco Bay to scatter our friend Bill's ashes. It was moving afternoon, simple and sweet, as we marked the end of a life well lived.

A monochrome picture taken from the Neptune Society's boat as we headed towards Sausalito across San Francisco Bay. A sailboat passed by, silently, with its tall white sails catching the wind and the hedelicious light of the afternoon sun. There are a few puffs of fog overhead, and the hazy shores of Crissy Field in the distance.
