40 years ago, while shopping for oriental rugs for an old cottage in the Castro, I fell in love with a children's pull toy: a hand carved wooden Trojan horse from Turkey (of course). Four decades later, it is still one of my favorite, non-vibrating toys.
So here it is, where I see it every morning, on a shelf just below a window in my bedroom. I took this photo yesterday, just as the morning light started to filter through the window shade. It's something calm and gentle to start off the week.

Isn't it wonderful when we find something like that, to fall in love with small mundane things 😍

I have a house full of small, treasured objects... each with its own story. And Chris has added many more to the collection. Right now our house looks a curio shop, and I am the old gay proprietor, peering over my reading glasses to make sure everything is arranged perfectly.
