Last night I watched...

Bad Boys: Ride or Die (2024)

Detective Mike and Marcus are at it again. In this one, Marcus dies, sees his former boss who previously died, then comes back to life, talking about souls, and how he cannot die. This happens within the first 10 minutes. Meanwhile, their former boss is framed and everyone goes along with it, except Mike and Marcus who set out to prove otherwise.

The story is nonsensical. It's a check your brains at the door type of movie, with over the top action pieces between a story that defies logic and comedy that feels somewhat forced. Eating candy after a heart attack, during a shoot out? Drones dropping bombs? Action sequences that look like a video game? To me it wore thin before reaching the end.

Directed by Adil & Bilall

Stars Will Smith, Martin Lawrence, Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig, Paola Núñez, Eric Dane, Ioan Gruffudd, Jacob Scipio, Melanie Liburd, Tasha Smith, Tiffany Haddish, and Joe Pantoliano
