Here's your first question – good luck!

If everyone on Earth got in the ocean and submerged themselves underwater at the same time, about how much would the world's sea level rise?

Check your answers and satisfy your curiosity, here: https://theconversation.com/the-conversation-u-s-weekly-news-quiz-189437?utm_medium=social&utm_source=mastodon&utm_content=quiz

@kevinrns Not to the account running the poll. We don’t even see the usernames of the people who vote.

I have no idea about the backend, but it would be entirely out of character of the Mastodon software to do that.

in reply to The Conversation U.S.

I doubt there is much way to prevent the instance computer from knowing the poll IPs, so some portion of each of the thousands? of instances.

I am sure Mastodon is designed to not leakm and wonerful upgrades all the time.

But security is NOT Mastodon's big code assurance, commications is.

Dont think of Mastodon as secure, its a moderated non commercial lets-do-this project of volunteers.

Hidden links are allowed, no more secure than an email link.

@kevinrns So don’t vote if you’re worried. I’m sure your sending a reply or favoriting also potentially exposes your instance IP as well.

I dont. I am not attacking you, I am asking questions, because there are reasons to ask questions. Mastodon DOES NOT do security very well, for example, Mastodon coders have said specifically. There is leakage in blocking, leakage in DMs.

I should have said:

"Does any know"

before asking my question

And VC money has been added to the Board of Mastodon, and Mastodon integrated with facebook and the criminal zucker. So questions.

So again sorry this felt like an attack
