I’m not saying it wouldn’t make sense but I guess it would take some getting used to.
I prefer floating windows as well (I want to like tiling systems but so far haven’t managed to), but I prefer separate desktops with collections of windows in them instead of one huge space.
(Or at least I think I do—would have to test that out to actually know) 🙂
I *think* I’m pretty good at categorizing things. I have a pretty stable setup of 8 desktops across two displays, and they all contain a particular workspace for certain things. This seems to be the sweet spot for me—I rarely have to think about where a new app should go, they find their natural place rather easily. Still, might be good to shake up my habits a bit every now and then.
@tero I understand. I personally find it really difficult to categorize open windows. I'm the inbox-zero type of person, so I don't like leaving things "unclean" or "unfinished" in a way. I close apps I'm not using anymore, and I shut down my laptop when I'm done with stuff. I keep my desktop PC on because I run some server stuff there, and it's convenient to have those default apps open.

(Just a matter of mindset and what I’m used to, I’m sure!)
