I'm watching The Future With Bill Gates documentary on Netflix. In the episode about AI the OpenAI folks proudly present their work.

"These models were not possible before we started putting so much content online."

They blatantly answer to a question "So what is the data it's trained on?":"It's trained on the Internet. The actual answer is we don't entirely know.", but we do though! It's trained on the content you and I create! You just fucking said it two sentences before.

People are so oblivious in this doc. Like this is the best thing ever. Yes, it's new and magical. But at what cost?

They are repeating the Myths about technology, written by the marketers. Those myths have little to do with the reality.

https://www.techpolicy.press/challenging-the-myths-of-generative-ai/ article by Eryk Salvaggio has a good categorization of myths:

Control Myths:
- The Productivity Myth
- The Prompt Myth

Intelligence Myths:
- The Learning Myth
- The Creativity Myth

Futurist Myths:
- The Scaling Myth
- The Emergence Myth
