This is really cool.

I love using technology in all my hobbies, and when it comes to running, tech-driven gear is especially motivating. I enjoy exploring new routes, but sketching them by hand is a time consuming task for a busy person and awkward to do on a phone.

Now my PT bot can analyze the areas I've already run and create new routes automatically using AI, Strava, and GraphHopper. All I need to do is upload the GPX file to WorkOutDoors or Runna on my watch and head out to conquer new paths...

that would destroy half of the fun of ā€œexploring new routesā€ for me. Sitting down with a map (paper or digital) and thinking about the different possible paths is part of the ā€œadventureā€ - maybe also looking up some information or reading up on a post from some one else.

Sometimes I don’t even have to create a GPX file and send it to the watch. Just from spending some time looking at the map I can often remember the area and route I came up with.

The auto routing would definitely remove a lot of the fun for me.

@recollir Well, you do you. I have less and less time to draw routes, and this works exactly like it would with Squadrats. I often draw a familiar route in my city to the point where there are more unfamiliar routes. This does the exact same thing without me having to spend time on it. But I often change the route while running. This is just pre-planning and guidelines. Each to their own. For me, part of the fun is the mystery, and this adds to the fun, not lessens it.

@karussell I wish I had more time to write in detail sometimes... I've done so many cool things over the past few months, quietly and without sharing much.
