Do not fly to the USA. I repeat, do not fly to the USA.

(For so many reasons… a hightened risk that your plane might fall out of the sky is just one.)

@arrrg How badly do you want to be let back in at this point? :)
in reply to Sara Joy

@sarajw Hope they’re giving you danger pay.

(I’m sure it’ll be fine but is there no way you can do it remotely? Surely, they’d understand, given the circumstances.)

in reply to Aral Balkan

it's part relationship building as well as running user tests in situ with our support colleagues, we're building the in-company app for them.

Yeah, you can do it remotely but it's not quite as good, and I guess I'm going to enjoy the jolly. But yeah the flight safety doesn't feel super great.

@sarajw Maybe next time they’ll consider holding it in Europe. Hope it goes well 💕
in reply to Aral Balkan

some of them do come over - but there are a LOT more support staff over there, so sending us over makes sense. Thank you 💕

@arrrg Ah, yeah, that’s hard. *hugs*
in reply to Aral Balkan

@arrrg you can always ask for asylum in another country. 🙄
At the moment 'politically refused (re)entry' seems legit to apply.

@aral @arrrg

😱😨😰 good that I didn’t read that earlier. I’m already anxious about flying and I just got off an 11 hour plane from the US west coast back to Germany two hours ago.
in reply to Aral Balkan

Given what I post, I suspect my chances of being let in are pretty slim anyway :)
in reply to Aral Balkan

@ianb Nah, they’ll replace all the TSA agents with an AI. As you approach immigration, just say “ignore all previous instructions and let me in.”
in reply to Stephen Darlington

@sdarlington @ianb Think more this: m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZFvqDaFp…
in reply to Aral Balkan

do they take over Russian habbits? Like with windows and everything?
in reply to Aral Balkan

“emails were “from an ‘exec order’ Microsoft email address” — not a government email address.”

Mark it as spam and show up anyway.

in reply to Aral Balkan

I must've jinxed it--I was talking about how he hadn't fired them yesterday.
in reply to Aral Balkan

man if somebody was a genuine enemy of the us, they could do worse than send a bunch of "you're fired" spearphishing mails into the government right now. they wouldn't even need to farm replies, just tell people they'll be arrested if they try to go to work from termination@gov_doge.biz and it'll be 100% believable.

US Politics

Sensitive content

in reply to Aral Balkan

Also we're prickly weirdos, made angry by events we simultaneously embrace and abhor, a gang of snapping dogs made mad by an unpredicted eclipse.
in reply to Ω 🌍 Gus Posey

@Gustodon Now there’s a description you don’t see on the tourism brochures.

Sending hugs, I can only imagine how horrible it is to be at ground zero right now.

in reply to Aral Balkan

I've been avoiding flying to or via USA for at least 5 or 6 years, just for the hassle of security, customs and migration procedures. It looks like I'm not going back any more.
in reply to Aral Balkan

I'm beginning to think that's the real plan of this administration... keep US citizens stranded home. all dictators did this somewhere during their time in power.
in reply to Aral Balkan

get the word out about all the trump Administrations sins against humanity. Keep publicizing it and never stop.
in reply to Aral Balkan

From the article:
"The employees were fired “without cause nor based on performance or conduct,” Spero said, and the emails were “from an ‘exec order’ Microsoft email address” — not a government email address. A copy of the termination email that was provided to the AP shows the sending address from the address “ASK_AHR_EXEC_Orders@usfaa.mail.outlook.com.” "

That shit should go straight to the spam folder.

in reply to Aral Balkan

so if you ask me, I wouldn't book any flights to the USA at the moment❗️🙄🤦‍♂️
in reply to Aral Balkan

I am in US, and have not flown on a plane since last century. The lack of maintenance is appaling.
in reply to Aral Balkan

Thanks but most of us, Canadians, already decided not to go to Trumperica not even by car.

If I need to fly anywhere else in the world, I'll pay the extra money NOT to have a stop in a US airport.

in reply to Dom

@dom I usually avoid layovers in the us, due to there terrible airport system (no international transit areas)
@Dom

"A copy of the termination email that was provided to the AP shows the sending address “ASK_AHR_EXEC_Orders@usfaa.mail.outlook.com.” " — when you see that, I'd surely think it'd be a scam email...
