I've discovered #deltachat 🙂 a while ago but only now starting to see the "beauty" in the system.
Would love to create a chat mail relay !

Q: Does it make sense to have a server locally here in New Zealand in my case.
Or would a webserver with a nz domain name be ok even though the server itself might be lin let say Germany....

Suggestions for hosts ?

it'd be cool if you could find some hosting in NZ or some of the islands in vicinity :) there is no lack of relays in Europe currently, and it will be likely noticebly slower for users in NZ if routed via europe.

@delta What are the specifications for uptime % for a #deltachat
chatmail relay server ?
Don't think I've seen anything on that...
I used to run a server from home, I wonder if that would be an option 🙂

don't worry too much about uptime or server specs. A) the smallest vps will do b) near future chat profiles will use multiple relays so if one is temporarily not online, it's not too bad.
