Not many people have noticed that China has not inserted itself into the conflict in the Middle East. I think this is a no small part because they have built up such substantial reserves both in rice and oil as well as having substantial coal reserves, Iโm not certain about natural gas, but they can coast for some amount of time.
Because they are a substantial producer of fertilizers and a lot of other basic industrial ingredients, they are in a good position

Correct. I've been watching this
strategic built-up for several years. It is self-evident that they have been doing so for a disconcerting reason, as all stockpiling leads to additional, "unnecessary" inventory costs. They might not have sent the #US-#Israeli-#Iran #Gulfwar3 coming, but the #Geostratic position they've manoevered themselves Info an excellent strategic position
If I had to guess, it is in preparation for the...

...#GulfWar3 drags on for am extended period of time, they might have to replenish these strategic reserves, before they can launch ๐ the attack, possibly pushing that armed conflict into the next decade...
Which might even constitute yet another advantage to them, as their military shipbuilding, outstripping any other nations, will lead to yet another "century when the #Chinese navy ruled the seas."1)
I will go even one step further:...

...If #Xi does *not* bide his time and waits until then, it will only be him to blame, because in contrast two the two other authoritarian superpower leaders, ge is *not* a gerontocrat and *can* wait.--As for the other two, their days are very much numbered. Death cannot (yet?) be cheated.

Overall, I think China understands military invasion in Taiwan would incur an enormous economic cost in terms of productive capacity on Taiwan that is not in their interest, and it may be incredibly difficult to maintain control of the territory.
That doesnโt stop them from building out their military fleet and menacing Taiwan, but I might think that theyโre smart enough to understand that is not a great way to win people over.
