For two years, the Al-Aqqad family believed that the grandmother and her daughter had been killed.
But in recent days, a soldier posted wartime memories from Gaza from inside an armored vehicle — and the grandmother and her daughter appeared in the footage.
It is hard to find words for news like this.
Look at how they are holding each other's hands out of fear.
To this day, no one knows what happened to them or what was done to them.

Their blog sheds unique perspectives over the ongoing genocide.
The stories in this blog are snapshots from an ongoing carnage narrated both through the lenses of historical accuracy and emotional depth.
Names may be altered out of respect towards the privacy of the victims, but the events are all, unfortunately, real.
Like many who are currently trapped in Gaza, the author of this blog also relies on the support of foreign donors to make a living and cover the basic necessities.

GoFundMe apparently closed Abeer’s previous account and told her that donations would be refunded.
I had made a donation during the Gaza Verified emergency appeal and, as I understand it, that money (a) was never transferred to Abeer by GoFundMe and (b) has not been refunded to me (to date).
Do any of you have people you know who work at GoFundMe.
Unless I’m missing something, and if this money doesn’t reach Abeer or get refunded, it would appear that GoFundMe is closing accounts that are set up to help Palestinians and fraudulently keeping the money.
Also, if you have friends in the press and/or in any regulatory bodies that might be able to help, please share this.

The image of activists being restrained on the “Freedom Flotilla” raises questions bigger than one incident.
How can civilians showing humanitarian solidarity be treated this way simply for supporting a besieged population?
Beyond politics, there’s an important legal and ethical debate here:
Where do “security concerns” end, and where do the rights of peaceful activists begin?
And what does it mean when solidarity or humanitarian action is met with force?

I survived the genocide alone, leaving everything & everyone behind. It happened so fast; I couldn't even say a proper goodbye to my family & fiancé.
Words fail me. My heart feels like it will burst from the pain.
This is the first time I've been in a place without my mother or fiancé. I feel completely alone; I just need them by my side. Worst of all, they’re still trapped in that agony. It breaks my heart that they are still suffering. I pray they make it out safely soon.
I left #gaza & left my family behind, enduring the same conditions. I look at how easy life is here, & I think about how difficult it must be for them right now. #Eurovision's most significant and damning effect is to whitewash #Israel's #genocide in #gaza.
They can heave a sigh of relief Israel didn't win, but the important point is that they allowed Israel the chance, and coming in second place shows that the system - however you define it - does not care about genocide.
The world is a dangerous place and not just for Palestinians, when genocide becomes something that does not matter to people or those who determine who gets to play.
